Our four-show pods have been decided and we’re bust gathering wellies to wang and rats to splat (fake ones of course!).
The game will work as a treasure hunt stopping at the designated pods for bacon butties, a BBQ, a quick tipple, sandwiches, cream teas, cakes and more. Here will also be our usual spectacular array of wonderful local trade stands and gorgeous agricultural demonstrations. It’s effectively the countryside show you love – just on a socially distanced scale!
If you plan on riding, it’s a six-mile loop, mostly across fields, bringing you back to your boxes. We will provide hitching posts at all our pods as well as hay and water to keep your ponies nourished on their adventure.
Meanwhile, if you’re planning on cycling, the route is only three and a half miles via roads along a fairly flat valley. (But remember it’s three and a half miles back if you drove your bikes to the showground – but Dad can be sent back for the car!).
Equally, you’re more than welcome to walk, jog or drive. Just so long as you bring your keenest hunting hawk eyes to search for hidden clues.
This has been a truly bonkers year for so many of us. Of course, all government guidelines will be followed to the letter ensuring that everyone stays safe. But here is a great opportunity for us to show our resilience.
Nothing says Dorset like a country show. And nothing says country like a good measure of resilience.
So, please book and come along to the only fun safe day out for all the family.’
